"Made with Love"

With the computer problems that I was having before, I realized that I had not posted any pictures of this fun little mini album that I created for a class at Scrappin' Friends in November. I fell in love with this Bo Bunny paper "Spicy Kitchen" and I knew I wanted to create a special album to record family recipes and pictures of my kids cooking with their Grandmas. My mom makes these wonderful biscuits, my daughter just loves them. Every time my mom comes for a visit my sweet girl is asking to make some biscuits, my mom doesn't use a recipe, so it is one of those things I want to write down. I love seeing my kids in the kitchen with my mom, she is much more relaxed in the kitchen than I am, lets just say cooking is not my favorite thing! So in this album I made lots of places to put photos and lots of pockets, on every page, to add recipe cards and journal special memories or reasons you love this or that recipe! I used my Bind it All to make this album, the pages flip out from both sides for a little twist. At the back of the album I created a accordion file with envelopes to store more recipes. I believe that there is still one kit available at Scrappin' Friends, if you are interested. The base of the book is all done for you, and the binding is already attached so all you need to do is add the decorative pieces that are provided in the kit!

I love how this turned out, what do you think?

December Angel Art Blog Hop- All Wrapped Up

It's time for another Angel Art Blog Hop!! This month we are showcasing decorative packaging!! I can't wait to see what all the other Angels have created. I had so many ideas for this, but unfortunately very little time. Here is what I did get made, last year my friend Linda gave me these glass jars to use for my ribbon, my first thought was that they looked like peppermint candies, so of course I had to make a candy jar. All the stamps used are from The Angel Company, for the lid I used "Christmas Circles" I layered them and used some foam tape for more dimension, I even broke into my stash of jewel brads for the center. It still needed something so I added one of those sweet little girls from "Holiday Girls" to the side, layered on red. A little ribbon around the lid and Ta-Da!! I think it will make a nice gift, that is if I can part with it! So what do you think!? Be sure and visit all the other Angels that are participating in this blog hop to see all their wonderful creations!!

Merriest Wishes Ornament Card

Last Sunday was my Hostess Group get together (I have one of the sweetest most wonderful group of gals anywhere!) , this is one of the projects that we created. I just love how this turned out. I had found these felt coasters in a dollar bin at Micheal's, and thought I could make some thing nifty with them. This is what I ended up with, an "Ornament Card"!! Inside the card is a spot for a gift card, and the ornament is detachable. I thought that these would be great for a quick gift item, for coworkers or teachers. I used The Angel Company set "Merriest Wishes" for this card, a great set for all winter long! I colored her with Copic Markers, and added Stickles to her wings for a little shimmer. What do you think?

Ready or Not...

Another Christmas card to share with you! Ready or not this Holiday is fast approaching, I feel like someone has turned the speed up on my hamster wheel!! But even though time seems to be flying by, and I am not really ready, I am really feeling "Christmasy" this year! Maybe it's all the Holiday music I have been listening to, I don't know, but I sure am enjoying the season!! I hope that you are enjoying it too!!

Christmas Elves...

What do you think of these cute little Christmas Elves?
Would you believe me if I told you that they were actually scarecrows!?! Yes it is true, I used "Hanging Out" and "Sunshiny Day"
from the Angel Company to create these fun little elves! Both sets are of scarecrows and fall goodies, but a little masking and some Christmas colors and TA-DA! Instant Elf! The tree is from another TAC set, "Camping". So what do you think?
Have a great day today.

Season's Greetings

Oh shock, another card!! I told myself I didn't "need" these poinsettia nestabillity dies, and I went on with my life. Then I borrowed them from my friend Linda to use on this card. Now I am concerned that I do actually "need" them! Oh dear....
Paper is from Basic Grey, sentiment is from The Angel Company's "Joyful Ornaments".

Joyful Ornaments

Good Morning, I hope that you will all forgive me once again for disappearing. I was sick, and it was no fun. Here is a card that I made for my card class this weekend at The Crafter's Mall. Love that Basic Grey paper, it's the "Eskimo Kisses"line, and it is too cute! I used a new set from The Angel Company "Joyful Ornaments" , a great set for beautiful and quick cards, always a plus during the holiday season. I finished it off with some die cut letters, and a little velvet ribbon. Hope that you are having a great day today!!

The Morning Buzz...

I am part of the Winger design Team over on Paper Wings, an Angel Gallery and Forum. The Gallery is open to everyone, and there are some very talented gals over there, you should check it out if you haven't already. Anyway, a couple months ago our theme for the month was "Going Green" as in recycling, reusing, green! This is one of the things that I made, I used a Level B Hostess set "The Morning Buzz", one of my favorite color combo's - Craft card stock, brown and red! I "recycled" some news paper and used it as a background, a little ribbon and ta-da! I really like how this one turned out. What do you think?

April Angel Art Challenge

This months Angel Art Challenge was to use our stamps for scraping, not just any stamps, gift with purchase stamps and hostess sets! This is my sweet girl and her best feline friend, Finn. (sorry for the photo looks funny, it looks really grainy, but honestly it's not) I used a 12x12 piece of craft card stock and stamped the paw prints (gift with purchase stamp) in Palette Burnt Umber. I added a strip of Amberly Grace paper and a scalloped strip of coordinating card stock. After backing the photo with the same card stock, I added the velvet ribbon over the top of the photo, finishing it off with a quick bow. I used the level B hostess set Perfect Friends for the kitty image and sentiment, punched it out with my mega circle punch, and layered it using my giga scalloped circle punch. The flowers and buttons are from the Audrey Embellishment Jar.

I like how this turned out. It is so funny to watch these two everyday, Finn loves all of us, but especially my sweet girl, and she is just crazy for him. So sweet. I wanted to get a picture so you could see both of their eyes, but Finn blinked, honestly they have the same eye color!

I hope you will hop over and visit the other Angels who are participating in this challenge.

Angel Blog Hop "Little Cupcake"

This Angel blog hop theme is "Little Cupcake" a brand new set from The Angel Company. It's a great set for birthdays, or any other occasion you want to make a "sweet" statement!
So here are the projects that I created, I made a quick birthday card using the cake image, quick and easy to color, and I added a little stickles to the frosting for some extra zing!
My next project is this cute little cupcake holder (there is this great little bakery here in my town and they put their cup cakes in these little containers, too cute) I added some patterned paper and one of the cup cake images, some ribbon. For the topper I added a felt flower and button from one of our embellishment jars! All I need now is a beautiful cup cake to put inside and I will have a great gift for someone special! What do you think?
Make sure you stop by and take a look at all the other Angels who are joining in on this blog hop, you are sure to get lots of inspiration!!

Share Your Art!!

I was over at Barb's Blog while hopping around, and I think that this is a fantastic way to share our art! The first 5 people to respond to this post will get something made by me! Could be a card which I am really pleased with, a piece 0f jewelry I made, or something else all together LOL! My choice!

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make although I hope you do!
2. What I create will be made with you in mind so you won't get something I already made unless I think it suits you to a T.
3. It'll be done sometime within the next 2 months.
4. You have no clue what it's going to be.
5. The catch is that you must offer this blog candy on your blog! Re-post this on your blog, offer something you make - your choice - to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog (then come here and post). Oh wait make that the first 4 people cause I am #1 {giggle} Yep be sure to add my name to the #1 line on your blog post - I am the first participant and I am already offering to share. When you create your give-away you will be the #1 spot for players 2-5 on your list. The first 4 people to post this on their blogs and leave a comment here telling me they did (I will go to your blog to check that you have this posted) will get an art share handmade item from me. Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! SO ...................who will be next????

Colored Eggs

I made this card last year for the Winger Design Team, on Paper Wings. I did not have any Easter stamps last year, so I thought about what I did have and this is what I came up with! I used an Angel Company set called "Running Stitches" to create
a series of lines, on water color paper. Then I punched my 'egg' out with my oval punch, ta-dah instant egg! I used water color crayons to color it in, I love the effect of water color crayons. The other eggs are just plain colored card stock, also punched out with my oval punch, that I chalked to give a little depth. I used a square punch and some free hand cutting to make the 'carton'. The sentiment is also from the Angel Company, by has since been retired. I still love how this turned out, what do you think?
Hope you are having a great day, thanks for stopping by!

"Blissfully Ever After" Angel Blog Hop

This months Angel Blog Hop is using the set "Blissfully Ever After". I don't actually have this set, but another Angel was kind enough to send me some images so I could join in the fun! Thanks Barbara!

Here are the 2 cards that I created, all the images are from "Blissfully Ever After". The sentiment on the second card is from "Elegant Sentiments", also from The Angel Company. Make sure you stop by to see all the other girls creations, it is so fun to see all the different ideas and ways to use the same set!
Have fun and let us all know what you think! :)

One Year!

The other day I got to thinking, and I couldn't remember when I started my blog. So I checked, and wouldn't you know, I missed my 1 year blogavesary!! It was last week, and this is the card from my very first post. It was not really an actual post, it was an attempt to get a photo uploaded, an attempt that actually worked,( thank you Kemi for helping me!) and then I didn't know what to say so I left it blank! :) How funny is that?
I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you that stop in regularly, or from time to time. (WOW! I just checked my counter, there are a lot of you!! :o) I really appreciate all of the very kind comments that you leave for me too, so BIG cyber ((((((hugs)))))) to you all!
I hope this next year does not fly by as fast as this last one. And I hope that I will gain some much needed computer knowledge so I can do more with my little blog here!
Have a really great day!!
Card Info: I made this card for a swap on Paper Wings. One of my first attempts to really color with my Copic markers! All stamps are from The Angel Company, the sunflower is from "Flowers and Holly", the sentiment I believe is retired and the swirly flourish was a gift with purchase stamp from the last catalog. Paper is DCWV yellow, and white card stock.

Friendship

Today was my monthly card class at Scraps of Life, a big thank you to those wonderful gals that joined me, it was so much fun! This is another card from my class today, my favorite one from this batch. This is such fun paper, the Detour line from October Afternoon. It is double sided which creates so many possibilities!
The stamp set is "friendship strips" from The Angel Company, the boat is paper pieced, and the sun is an orange flower. I love how this one turned out, what do you think?

Irish Beauty

St. Patrick's day is my daughters favorite holiday. She loves it, so every year we do special things to make it all even more fun. Every year she plans an elaborate Leprechaun trap, seriously, and she is quite clever about it too. We have never actually caught one, but she is persistent and continues to try. She is sure that if she could only catch one they would become good friends and she could possibly receive some free wishes or at the very least some gold. Oh how I love this amazing girl, it is such a joy to experience the magic of childhood again, even if it is through someone else's eyes.
This is an 8x8 scrap page that I made last year for the Winger Design Team on Paper Wings. All paper and stamps are from the Angel Company. It is one of my favorite photos, I think from Kindergarten, it just makes me smile.
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

What Gives My Heart Wings

This is a project that I created for the Paper Wings Design Team, The Wingers, back in the summer. Paper Wings is a great site just for Angels from TAC, but the gallery is open to everyone. If you have not checked it out , what are you waiting for?
I used the Amberley Grace collection of papers and card stock. I free hand cut the heart and wings, just lightly drew them on the back side of the paper, then cut them and added chalk to give some depth. (You could also make them out of scratch paper and trace around them, then you would have a great pattern to share.) All the letters are die cut. I used my favorite swirly set from The Angel Company, "Fancy Curls". Then I added that beautiful pewter buckle and photo corners, form the box of embellishments that I have been hoarding. A little ribbon, a few dew drops, and a photo of my favorite people in the world! I really like how this turned out, what do you think?

To The Core...

This is my favorite card from my card class last weekend. I love it. I was so excited about it until my sweet husband told me he thought it was a little "cheesy"! (insert shocked face) Maybe it is a little cheesy, but thankfully everyone at my class liked it as much as I do. (And wont my sweetie be shocked when he finds this is the card I 'm planning to give him for Valentines!! :) hahaha!)
What do you think?

I really love the sayings in the Seeds of Blessings set and I knew I wanted to make some kind of framed project. So when I found these cute little frames in the dollar spot at Target I was set!! Ithink this will make a great gift for someone special!

Angel Art Challenge: January

Good Morning ! I hope that you are having a great day!! Today is another round of The Angel Art Challenge, I am really enjoying these blog hops, and the challenges that go with them. Here is the card I created. This one defiantly had me working outside of my norm, we were to use glossy card stock, I don't think I have ever used glossy card stock before. (I know where have I been!) We also needed to use felt and buttons, I thought that would be the easy part, I like felt and buttons. I found it was not as easy as I thought! I made my back ground paper using the glossy card stock and alcohol inks, (it's the first time I have used those too!) I think I like how it turned out. I used a felt heart and jazzed it up with my buttons, and a bit of ribbon. I added the scalloped square to make the whole think pop, which left me with an unattractive space at the bottom...so I added the "love" strip and called it good. It is not my favorite card but it is growing on me, and I really did learn a bunch of new things making it, and that is always a good thing!!
Let me know what you think, and don't for get to stop by the other Angels blogs to see their wonderful creations!!

A Day in the Snow!

A couple weeks ago we drove up to the mountains and played in the snow, we had so much fun! It was really beautiful, it had just snowed earlier in the day and the trees were still all covered in beautiful white. The crazy thing is today it was 82 degrees at our house! Not typical January weather at all!! I hope that we get a whole lot more snow and rain, we really need it, and I would like to have a few more of these fun days with my family! I should have some new cards and things to show you here in the next few days, keep a look out!
