So Far Behind...

Have you ever gotten so far behind that you wonder if you will ever catch up again? I am there! *sigh* I just wanted to make a quick post before I attack my to do list again. This is a card that we made in my card class last week, I just love these papers from My Minds Eye, so pretty.  The flower is a combination of many different tutorials I have seen, on many different blogs lately. Paper Jewels (she has tons of fun ideas you should check out her blog if you have not yet!) had a great tutorial on "coffee filter flowers" that I thought was really clever awhile back, so that is where I started-coffee filters. Then it kind of evolved into it's own little thing by adding bits and pieces of other ideas I have seen.  This is a simple card, but I really like how it turned out, what do you think?

Hope you are having a beautiful day, thanks for stopping by!

I Won!!

I am so excited! The Angel Company has monthly contests for all of us Angels, every month there are different themes. I sent in this little mini album for this months "Mini Marvelous" category, and I WON!!!!  Yippee!

This little mini was what my wonderful hostess group made last month as our project. The  stamp sets used are "Cup of Tea", "Tea for Two", and "Fabulous Frames". We embossed the Tea Pots with the new Imperssibilities embossing plates, using white core card stock and a sanding block to bring out the beautiful pattern. We also used Labels 4 and Large Labels Nestibilities dies to accent some of the sentiments. The cup and tea bag are colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits.  I was so happy with how this turned out, and I am so excited to have won, there are some really talented Angels out there and they come up with amazing things for these contests!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a wonderful Spring day in your neighborhood!

March Angel Art Blog Hop!

Easter is the theme for this months Angel Art Blog Hop.  I have so many wonderful Easter memories from my childhood.  There was a really neat little candy store in our town that made chocolates and all kinds of really cool candies, at Easter they made these wonderful sugar eggs, all different colors and sizes. At one end, or in the middle there was a hole that you could look through, and inside the egg would be a miniature scene with bunnies or little yellow chicks all out of frosting and sugar. I always loved those eggs, and marveled at those tiny little works of art inside. So for my Easter project I created my own version of those candy eggs, but with paper and stamps!

I cut my 'egg' out of lavender card stock and then used a nestibilities circle to cut out the opening for my little Easter scene. I used "The Joy of Easter" from The Angel Company, masking several of the images to create the focal point. I had found these fun little 'windows' that are really for making shaker cards at our local stamp store, and thought it would work well for this project too! A little shading and some stickles and ta-da!

So what do you think, I think I might try a few more of these, maybe add some more flowers!

Please be sure to stop by the other blogs of those Angel's who are participating, and let them know how much you enjoy their projects too!

Birthday Cowboy

I have not made anything for awhile, still trying to get well, seem to be on my way now thanks to a doctor visit and some antibiotics. So I thought I would post something I made awhile back, but forgot to post! This is a birthday card that I made for our Neighbor's little boy, Patrick. He turned 2 in January and he is all about horses and cowboys. He would actually prefer to watch John Wayne movies over cartoons! For this card I used "Wild West", a fun set from The Angel Company. I love this little cowboy and have used him a lot! The sentiment is from "Ordinary Greetings" also from The Angel Company. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, thanks for stopping by!

What I used:
Stamps: Wild West T2633
             Ordinary Greetings T2881
Ink: Memento Black
Colored with Copic Markers
Shapes cut with Nestabilities Stars and Circles

"Family" Mini Album

My first Hostess group is now a "Challenge Club". Every month one of us (we take turns) makes up packets with paper and goodies from our stash of stuff. Part of the whole point is to use up stuff that we already have, that we have been hoarding! We then all make a project using the stuff in our challenge kit. You can add to it if you want, and you can make anything that tickles you fancy. This month we decided to make projects and put them all together for a fund raising auction to support Turtle Bay a wonderful local "Exploration Park". This was the project that I made. It is a chipboard mini album with a Family theme. Everyone made wonderful projects, it was so neat to see them all together!  I am really enjoying these challenges, it's fun to use papers and things that I might not have any other time. It's challenging because you have to stretch your imagination and figure out your project with the supplies you have. And it is fun to see how everyone of us used the same things totally differently!! I am really enjoying it!!
