Same Angel, Different Colors...

I love to use the same stamped image, but with different colors and papers to show my customers how versatile one set can be. This is the same angel from "Just Dream" that I used in my previous post, just with a different look!
I hope that your holiday plans are going well. We are still rushing around a little bit. It's all good though, my kids are all exited and that makes it so much fun!

Christmas Angel...

I love this set of stamps called "Just Dream" from The Angel Company, I made this card months ago for the Winger Design Team over on Paper Wings. (If you have not been over to Paper Wings you should check it out, there is a wonderful gallery that is open to everyone, filled with lots of incredibly talented Angels creations!!)
These angels are large images and so much fun to color!! I love the fact that you can totally change the mood of of your project just by changing the colors and sentiment. There are four different angels in the set, this is my favorite, I hope that you enjoy her too!

Angel Art Challenge : Winter

This months Angel Art Challenge theme is "Winter" I decided to use this accordion tag album that I have had for awhile, to make a little winter decoration for our house. The snowmen are part of a vintage set that is available from The Angel Company this month, it's called 'Hello Winter'. I wish that I had, had it for the whole Christmas season, I could have used it on a lot more of my projects!! The scarves around their necks are great for paper piecing!! All the paper is scraps form previous projects. I love how this one turned out, I hope that you enjoy it too!! Don't forget to check out all the other Angels that are participating in the Angel Art Challenge...

More cards!

Here are two cards from my class at Scraps of Life this weekend. It was a great class, with some really wonderful gals. These papers are from We R, really fun double sided papers in nontraditional colors!
I have really been in love with snowflakes this year, I just can't get enough of them, glittered, frosted, pearled, flocked, I just love them! I am so glad that I can still use them for wintery cards and pages after Christmas!!

More Packaging...

I hope that you all had a most wonderful Thanksgiving!! This year was a really great one for us, spent with family, enjoying each other and lots of yummy food!

I am having so much fun creating cute little gift packages out of all of the odds and ends I have been collecting. I am looking forward to baking a bunch of goodies to fill them all up too!!
I am really exited about the holidays this year, although I had a small moment of panic today when I realized just how close Christmas is!! Yikes!! And the fact that my kiddos will be out of school in just a few short weeks, oh my! Thanks for stopping by....

Creative Packaging...

Here are a couple more items from my Creative Packaging Class. I had such a great time with this class, thank you to all those who came or got a kit!!
I must give full credit for the drink carrier to Lauren Meader, she is an incredibly talented and amazing papercrafter, and she gave me permission teach and share this wonderful creation of hers! Thank you Lauren!!! Check out her blog, there is a link on my side bar, you are sure to be inspired!
The candy box is not a new idea, but it is such a fun project and you can change it up so easily just by changing your paper and colors!
Stamps used for these two projects are by Kim Hughes (love her stuff!) from Cornish Heritage Farms. Patterned paper is from my minds eye, I think that this is my favorite paper this year. I want to go get a ton of it and hoard it, but I am being good....really I am!
I hope you all are having a most wonderful weekend! Thanks for popping in!

Sonja Meets Willoughby

I love this line of paper from The Angel Company, it's called Willoughby, it's just beautiful. It's one of my very favorites. I made this sometime back for the Winger Design Team over on Paper Wings, it is a Sonja Purse, it comes plain and you add the paper of your choice. There is also a little mini album that you can decorate to match! I hope you are having a most wonderful weekend! Hey and does anyone know what happened to the beginning of November, it seems like the month just started, how did we get to the middle already!??

Upcoming Classes You Don't want to Miss!

I am very exited to share some of my upcoming classes with you today! Here are some previews of 3 classes that I will be doing for the holiday season. The cards are part of my Christmas card classes that I have been teaching every month. These are from the next class which will be held on Saturday Nov. 8th, there are still some spots left if you are interested in joining us, or let me know if you would like a kit!! I think these are my favorite so far, I love the paper and they are so sparkly!!

The Star Book is one of my all time favorite projects, there is a lot of WOW to this little album, but it is actually quite simple to make!! In the class we will be making the 6"x 6" size but I will give you directions for two other sizes as well, stacked they make a beautiful Christmas "tree", great for a table decoration!! This class will now be held on Saturday Dec. 13th.
Finally the last picture is of a CD mailer that I have turned into a gift card holder with a matching ornament to tuck inside. This will be part of my "Creative Packaging" Class to be held on Friday Nov. 14th. There are several projects for this class, I am really exited about all of them!! If you would like to see more drop by Scraps of Life and take a peek!
If you are interested in any of these classes, or if you would like to order a kit, please contact Scraps of Life! Hope to see you there!

File Folders and Owls-Kathi's Card

This is a birthday card I made for Kathi, one of the fabulous gals in my hostess group! Kathi makes these wonderful huge cards out of file folders, so I thought I would give it a try! No stamping on this card, everything is paper pieced. The idea for the owl was from a card I saw in a magazine by Kim Hughes, love it! And it was super easy using my circle punches!! The "owl" paper is from We R, it is double sided, bright, and just lovely!! I used brown card stock for the tree, I just (yes Sandy I said "just"!) hand cut the branches. The leaves are die cut with a spellbinders leaf die, out of some green card stock. I found the file folders already printed in that beautiful blue! I really love how it turned out, hope you enjoy it too!

Angel Art Challenge : Halloween!

Here are a couple of fun Halloween creations that are quick and oh so fun to create! I found these little buckets at Target, 2 for a dollar! So cute filled with some candy and dressed up with the new "Glitter Goblins" stamp set from The Angel Company, I just love those bat wings!!
The clam shell card and blooming envelope I made using my nestabilities. For the image, I was inspired by a really great card I saw on Barb Lemone's blog awhile back. The background was all sponged using masking techniques, the wonderful cat is from "Happy Haunting" from The Angel Company. The sentiment is a gift with purchase stamp from the current catalog.
I hope you enjoy these projects and take a look at the other Angel bloggers who are participating in this challenge!!

These are 2 of the cards we made, all the paper is from Imaginisce, it is really beautiful and fun paper. The stamped images on these 2 cards are also from Imaginisce, I love that when you can match paper and stamps!! Sentiments are from Amuse. If you look closely at the ginger men you will see that 1 has a bite out of it! I thought it was kind of funny with the "bah humbug"! I hope that your day is wonderful, and thanks for stopping by!!

Upcoming Classes!!

Hello, I am back!! So sorry I fell of the face of the Earth there for a bit, I can be clumsy that way sometimes. It has been SUPER busy here at my house, busy, busy, busy! It's all good though!
I have been preparing for several up coming classes at Scraps of Life, and also classes for a weekend retreat with Scrap Happy Retreats!
The pictures here are for my upcoming class at Scraps of Life on Sept. 13th. In the top photo are some samples from my "Scor-pal" class, in addition to these three projects we will be making 3 different styles of folded cards and 2 different styles of envelopes to match. It's a hands on class, to learn the basics (and more) of this most wonderful tool!

This next photo is of one of the cards we will be making in my "Christmas Card Club" . Every month from now thru Dec. I will be teaching 8 new and different cards each month all themed for Christmas. Then when the holidays arrive, your cards will be ready! This class will also be held on Sept. 13th.

There is limited room in each class, so please sign up early if you are interested in either of these classes!

I have lots more goodies to post in the days to come, again sorry for not updating sooner. I hope you all are having a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!!

More Christmas...

It's been really busy around our house the last few weeks, holy cow! Today is the first day of school for my kiddos, and the first day of Kindergarten for my son!! It seems like only yesterday it was my daughters first day of Kindergarten, and now she is in the 4th grade!!
Anyway here is another card for the Christmas stack! Very quick and simple to make too!! I used a reverse masking technique, and sponged the ink into the circle. I stamped the ink off once to get the lighter snowflakes inside of the circle. Then I removed my masking and stamped the large snowflake, (with full strength ink) and sentiment. The snowflakes and the sentiment are both from The Angel Company, "Ornamental Snowflakes" and "Holiday Liners". I layered my card front on a scrap of bright blue Bazzil Bling card stock (wow try to say the 10 times fast!), added some silver cording and a little gem. I am really happy with how it turned out, hope you enjoy it to!

Another Angel...

I know that I've said this before, but I love these Angels! I am one of those people who always have a million plans for the Holidays, but fail to start early enough. So this year I am getting a jump start on my holiday cards, so that I will actually send them in the mail to all the people that I love......I hope.
This card is made with the set "Just Dream" from the Angel Company, and colored with Copic markers. It's kind of difficult to read her sign, it says "Celebrate", I wanted Happy Holidays, or Merry Christmas, but didn't have the right size.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!

Blog Candy Update and a Card...

I have had several people contact me to let me know they were having some trouble leaving a comment for the Birthday Blog Candy. So I will leave this open until the 1st, please leave a comment on this post if you were not able to comment before, (or if you just didn't get around to commenting before)!HTH
I don't know about you, but every year I have all these great plans for the holidays in my head, and I just don't get started soon enough. Making my Christmas cards is one of those things that I just never quite get to. So this year I am trying to get a jump on the Holiday season!! I made this card for a swap, so I will get 6 different cards back!! I really like how this one turned out, all stamps are from The Angel Company. The 'Happy Holidays' sentiment is from a Level A hostess set called "Just For You". The house and the other half of the sentiment (I pieced it together) are form the new set "Welcome Home". I really like how this card came out, I think I will have to make more... soon so I actually get them done!

Cards by Alex!

Here are the amazing cards that my sweet girl made! The only thing I had anything to do with at all is the scrappers floss on the rocket card, I helped her curl it all up, oh and I tied the bow, that's it!! She use a lot of my punches for her shapes, and a few stamps, now she is hooked! I hope you enjoy them, she is very exited that I am posting them on the Blog!

I will be celebrating my birthday this week, so I thought it would be fun to offer a little "Birthday Blog Candy"!! Leave a comment here on this post and I will randomly draw a name (most likely out of a hat) Monday July 28th! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Road Trip!

Last month some of my (Most Wonderful) Hostess group and I went on a Road Trip! We had so much fun! We went to The Paper Garden, if you are in, or near Sacramento, you NEED to go to this store, it is a stampers dream! We spent the whole morning in there, so many stamps, we even got to do a make and take! Thank you Stephanie!! I bought a couple of Elzabells stamps there, love them! The card at the bottom was made with one. I am really exited because tomorrow I will be going back to The Paper Garden to take a class given by Julie Ebersole! Yipppeeeee!

We had a wonderful lunch at an Italian restaurant too, on the left side of the table is Kathi and Caroline, on the right Susan, me, and Sandy. We really missed the rest of our group, Linda, Brandy, Erin, and Kim! Next time you guys have to come!
It was a really fun day, I do owe Kathi an apology though, in my haste and excitement to get into one store, I accidental locked her in the car! So Sorry! Ahhh, good times! Thank you Sandy for driving us all around, and for the treats too!! You guys are the best, can't wait to do it again, although my pocket book is still a bit bruised!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!

New Family Member, and a Card!!

I'd like you to meet a new member of our family, this is Finn! A couple of weeks ago we adopted two little kittens from a shelter, and they are so wonderful!!! Our other baby doesn't love the camera, so I only have pictures of her walking away from me, have to work on that! They are both doing great, and I think they have doubled in size already!

Anyway on to the card...

Another new image I just had to play with, Elzybells "moon girl", by Amuse! And more scraps from my big pile of scraps. Hey and how about those flowers!! Found them at Micheal's, and My Most Wonderful Hostess Group had given me a gift card, so....now I have them in all colors!! :) Thank you Ladies!!
