Thank You TAC...

Every month Paper Wings puts on an Angels Art Blog Hop, sadly this months hop is our Final Farewell to The Angel Company. I have been an Angel for 5 years, and have truly loved every minute of it. I thought I would share some of my favorite projects with you. When I started going through all my pictures I was shocked at just how many things I have made in this time, holy cow! It was kind of hard to narrow it down to just this many!
This was one of the first cards that I ever made! I started this journey as a scrapbooker (gasp!) still am! I didn't really make cards at all back then. I was at a scrapbook retreat just after becoming an Angel, and they asked me to do a make and take to show my products, I had limited supplies (and knowledge.)
This is the first card that I made that I truly loved, it came out exactly as I had pictured it, yeay!! Colored with watercolor crayons.
Fun clock colored with prisma colored pencils and OMS, used running stitches to turn the clock into a baseball!
 First try with cracked glass.
Loved these cute kid stamps, this cowboy was one of my all time favorites!
Learning to color with Copic markers!
 Recent favorites.

Thank you to TAC for all that you have given me, and for all the ways you have helped me grow as a person and an artist. For all the wonderful people I have met and all the fantastic friends that I have made!! I have loved this adventure, and will miss this company and our products more than I can ever say in words! Hugs to all my fellow Angels out there! Good luck to each of you as you begin an new adventure, whatever that may be!!
Please be sure to follow the hop and see every one's tribute to The Angel Company!! It is sure to be fabulous!!

Sad, Sad News...

Life is full of detours. It is with such sadness that I share this news with you, The Angel Company has closed it's doors after 14 years of bringing us delightful and inspiring stamps and paper products. Here is the official letter from Mischelle Smith:

"It is with great sadness that I must announce we are hanging up our wings. These past several years our industry has faced enormous challenges and as a result, we have seen many companies close their doors. We continued to hope we could see The Angel Company through this recession and back into prosperous days and we held onto this hope as long as we could.

One of the largest challenges affecting each of us is our industry not being able to support all of the direct sales companies in our field. Even in a healthy economy, we are a niche market trying to compete for a very limited number of distributors. As a small company, this has been a grueling challenge for us. Times are tough for everyone ~ in direct sales and retail environments.

I would like to thank each of you for being an customer and Angel these past 14 years. Indeed, it has been a pleasure to serve you. -Mischelle"

I have been an Angel with TAC for 5 years and have loved every minute of it. I started this adventure for myself, but as in most things it developed into something quite different. Opportunities opened up that I had never considered, and before I knew it I was teaching classes, and more classes... Sharing my love of this fabulous hobby/craft with others, sharing the joy of creating with others. Sometimes others who felt that they had no creative abilities at all, what a joy to see that look of excitement when they realized they had just created something beautiful all by themselves!!  I have made life long friends I might not ever have met otherwise. I gained confidence in myself and my talents and I gained an identity outside of "Mom". I tried out for Design Teams, and got spots on them!! I have been inspired and amazed by the talent and kindness of my fellow Angels, some of whom I was blessed to have met this summer at Seminar.
Seminar, I have not even processed all the wonderful things that happened for me there yet!! I got to meet all these wonderful gals that I admire so very much, my Super Heroes,  in person!! Everyone of them were sweet and kind and wonderful!  I never dreamed that something I made would be on the cover of our catalog, or that I would receive the Angel of The Year award!! What!??! How is that possible?!
I could go on and on, this adventure has given me so very much that I am so deeply thankful for, all the while doing something that I love. My cup is very full! The best part is I get to keep all these things. Thank you Mischelle Smith, and everyone at TAC, past and present for this wonderful adventure!! I am truly going to miss your sweet company!
A very special Thank You to all of you amazing girls in my Hostess groups, past and present! You all ROCK!!  I appreciate you more than words can express, each of you were a huge part of this adventure and my success. I  will continue teaching classes and having monthly groups, and sure hope you will continue to join me!! Hugs to you all!!
If you made it this far, thanks for hanging in there, I just needed to share what was in my heart today. Sorry no eye candy... I will be back Sunday with a bunch of other Angels for a special blog hop to celebrate The Angel Company and all the wonderful stamps and products they brought us! I hope you will join us.

Hope that your day is filled with unexpected joy! :)

Whimsy and Stars Freebie!!

Hello, just wanted to pop in here and post a couple more cards that I have made using digi images by Mabelle, at Whimsy and Stars Studios!!  *** But before I tell you about my cards I need to let you know that Mabelle has a fabulous FREEBIE for you, but only from 8/15/11 to 8/17/11, so hurry and go HERE for all the details, you don't want to miss out!***
This little cutie is called Little Ladybug . Can't you imagine her in all kinds of different color combinations?! So sweet! I made this card for a good friend of mine, I hope that she likes it!! That wonderful background was made using a new stamp from The Angel Company called Here I Am. I am so excited to have some fun new background stamps in this new catalog, so many possibilities! Sentiment is from one of Mabelle's Angel Company stamp sets called Apple of My Eye.
This card was made using Baby's Teddy, another sweet image that is so much fun to color! Paper was from my scrap bucket, I think it is My Minds Eye and Bo Dot. The flower was made with a new flower punch that TAC is carrying , sentiment from Wonderful Trees.

Have a great day! Thank You for stopping by, I appreciate it!

Savvy Projects Technique Blog Hop- Stamping on Fabric

Hello and Happy Friday! I hope that you are having a wonderful day today. It is time for another Savvy Projects Blog Hop!! This month it is a technique hop, and we are featuring Stamping on Fabric!! I have never actually done this before, always meant to, but never got around to it. It's always good to try new things!!
I found these muslin(sorry I thought they were muslin, but no!) canvas artist trading cards in my stash of stuff and thought that would be a good place to start. I stamped off a few different images to work with using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. When you stamp on fabric it is a much softer line, the ink just is not as bold. I knew that you could use colored pencils on the muslin, but I wanted a bolder look so I went for my Copics. After experimenting on one of my images I realized that you need to use a very soft hand, and it is better to let your ink dry between colors. Also I liked it better when I started with the softest color, completely covering the area I was coloring, then adding my darker color for shading and then the medium color over the top of that. I hope that makes some kind of sense. For this card I used Be Fabulous, Wonderful Words, Hemingway ribbon, SWIC, and card stock collections. Originally I was going to stamp the sentiment on the fabric, but I knew it wouldn't be as bold as I wanted it, so I just added another layer!
This next card is my favorite and uses Music Washes, Amberley Grace SWIC, Amberley Grace, Hemingway, and Mimi card stock collections. I also used some wonderful old sheet music that one of my sweet hostess girls gave me, Thank You Kara!
Please check out The Savvy Projects Blog to see more fun and inspiring creations with stamping in fabric. Even better make your own stamped on fabric project and add it to the blog hop, there is a link at the bottom of the Savvy projects post!! We would love to see what you create too!!
So what do you think?
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful Friday!!

Edited to add that these were canvas ATC pieces. Opps, sorry!!

Whimsy and Stars Weekend!

Happy Saturday!! I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend, I just wanted to share a couple of fun cards I made using some of Mabelle's sweet digi images. This one is called "Little Girl Garland" and you can find her HERE. Mabelle's images are so happy and fun, weather in digi  form, or rubber stamps from The Angel Company, I love them all!! Such a delight to color too! The sentiment is from a new TAC set called "Grace and Peace", patterned paper is from My Minds Eye Stella and Rose collection.
For this card I used "Sunshine Teddy", so sweet! Sentiment is from TAC set "Brighten You Day". Patterned paper is again My Minds Eye, Stella and Rose collection. I hope that you will pop over and take a look at all of Mabelle's wonderful images at Whimsy and Stars Studio, she has lots of beautiful samples from all of her Design Team that are sure to inspire you!!

Have a wonderful weekend, thank you so much for stopping by I appreciate it so much!

With Love

Today I am sharing a couple of cards I made with a new set called With Love. This set is from a new stamp artist, Soft Pencil Studios, for The Angel Company. Cute, happy images that are fun to color. I paired this sweet bunny with TAC's Toodle Loo paper collection, love that plaid!
Isn't this snail the cutest?! Love that little guy.  For this card I used More Mimi paper collection and card stock. I really was wanting a "postage stamp" style punch or nestability to use for this card, behind the snails, but I didn't have anything like that, so I used circles. This card actually made it into the new Angel Company catalog!! If you would like to get a catalog of your own, please contact me.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope that you are having a wonderful day!!

Paper Wings Angel Art Blog Hop- Christmas

It is time for another Angel Art Blog Hop, this months theme is Christmas. This is a really fun type of pop up/ 3-D card or diorama card, that I learned how to make at Seminar, thank you Paula-Kay!! I have so many ideas for this type of card, and Christmas cards were at the top of my list! This is not the greatest photo, I am sorry about that, if I can get another tomorrow I will. I used several different sets for this card, Jingle Jolly, Santa Clause is Coming to Town, and Joyful Ornaments. These cards are surprisingly easy to make and fold flat for mailing too!
I hope that you will take the time to follow this fun Blog Hop, I am sure the will be lots of fun and creative ideas to inspire you to get a jump start on your Christmas and Holiday projects!
