Christmas in July Day 2

Welcome to day two of Christmas in July!! (Sorry this post should have gone up this morning) Today I used the same card sketch two different ways. One card is very traditional, the other bright and fun.
For this card I wanted a rich old fashioned look. This card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" I used Hemingway SWIC, Mia's Cottage and scarlet card stocks. On the creamy piece of Hemingway paper I stamped the distressed edge from Background Soup, and several different snowflakes from Ornamental Snowflakes. I used Momento Rich Cocoa ink that I stamped off onto a piece of scratch paper before stamping onto the cream Hemingway paper, for a more aged look. I also inked all the edges, I just like the look, and it feels more polished to me. For my focal image I used With His Glory from the fall supplement. I lived in Finland for three years, a long time ago, when I saw this image it made me a little "homesick". I colored the reindeer with copic markers, I used colors from the traditional old style dress of Lapland, in Northern Finland. I kind of wish I had just colored everything that is blue, a rich green.
I inked the edges of my punched snowflakes then coated them with old fashioned glass glitter, they really look like they are frosty with a slight shimmer! The red strip on the bottom was made by cutting a nestabilities labels 17 in half length wise. I finished it off with a bit of jute twine. Overall I like this one a lot, what do you think??
Now this card was made using the scraps from yesterday and today's cards. The green is from Mia's Cottage, I had stamped the polka dots from Background Soup in versa mark ink, then changed my mind, so I had this ready to go! I added the bright blue card stock for a little pop of color, and to change it up a bit from yesterday's card. I love this little penguin, so cute, and even better this little guy is one of our gift with purchase stamps from the fall supplement!!  The sentiment is from Merriest Wishes another fun Fall Supplement set!Now if you look back at yesterday's post you might notice that these two cards use the same basic sketch as the mouse card!! Just by changing the colors and focal images they are each different!
If you have not been over to the Savvy Projects blog yet this week you really need to, amazing cards today by Kerry! Tomorrow Rita Kegg will be treating us to some wonderful Christmas ideas!!

Have a great day!! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Fantastic! I love how you did him in grey...sometimes the brown feels too heavy and this is perfect. Of course, you'd come up with it - you are a brilliant at coloring!! :)

Wow!!! Love the reindeer. So beautifully colored. Lucky you lived in Finland. I'd love to live up north someday. The penguin card is so traditionally cheery you!!! Love the velvet ribbon (I just love touchy-feely cards!).
