Savvy Projects Technique Blog Hop- Stamping on Fabric

Hello and Happy Friday! I hope that you are having a wonderful day today. It is time for another Savvy Projects Blog Hop!! This month it is a technique hop, and we are featuring Stamping on Fabric!! I have never actually done this before, always meant to, but never got around to it. It's always good to try new things!!

I found these muslin(sorry I thought they were muslin, but no!) canvas artist trading cards in my stash of stuff and thought that would be a good place to start. I stamped off a few different images to work with using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. When you stamp on fabric it is a much softer line, the ink just is not as bold. I knew that you could use colored pencils on the muslin, but I wanted a bolder look so I went for my Copics. After experimenting on one of my images I realized that you need to use a very soft hand, and it is better to let your ink dry between colors. Also I liked it better when I started with the softest color, completely covering the area I was coloring, then adding my darker color for shading and then the medium color over the top of that. I hope that makes some kind of sense. For this card I used Be Fabulous, Wonderful Words, Hemingway ribbon, SWIC, and card stock collections. Originally I was going to stamp the sentiment on the fabric, but I knew it wouldn't be as bold as I wanted it, so I just added another layer!

This next card is my favorite and uses Music Washes, Amberley Grace SWIC, Amberley Grace, Hemingway, and Mimi card stock collections. I also used some wonderful old sheet music that one of my sweet hostess girls gave me, Thank You Kara!

Happy Leaf

Today on the Savvy Projects Blog, the Design Team has an amazing collection of cards to share with you, using the August Card Club Rewards set Happy Leaf. You have got to go and see these cards, so many different points of view and just beautiful art work!! This is the first card I made with this set, I used Miss Moxie paper collection, so bright and happy. This is a "scrap" card, I used all the little pieces that were on my desk left over from something else. Love to do that, it's like putting a puzzle together.

Then I made a trio of cards, using the same background. I used Versa Mark and clear embossing powder on all but one leaf, on Kraft card stock for my background paper. The sentiment from One Of a Kind. I really love Kraft card stock.

Then I had this idea, with the same background. That beautiful sentiment is on of TAC's new gift with purchase stamps!!

Then I made this one. All of these cards are quick and simple to make, the last three would be great for a man or woman! This is a very fun set of stamps, and very versatile too. Brighten Your Day

Been playing with some new stamps! This set is called Scalloped Circles by Nina B, for The Angel Company. This set is wonderful because not only is it beautiful, it also works with my spellbinders scalloped circles dies! The sentiment is from a new Level A Rewards set, Say Hello. I have been trying to send more cards, (yes, I make them, but I fail to actually send them, it is true!) who doesn't love to open their mail box and find something that is not junk mail or a bill!! This card went in the mail over a week ago. I think I am going to make some more in all different colors, they would even make a great gift card set to give to someone. :)

Lilly's Rainbow

Just wanted to share a few cards I made with this new set Lilly's Rainbow by Mabelle R.O. for The Angel Company.  Isn't she cute!?   I made my background using Background Soup, and the rainbow is popped up with foam tape. This is a card that made it into the new Angel Company catalog! If you don't have a catalog yet, and would like to get one, please contact me!

 

For this card I wanted to focus on the beautiful sentiment in this set, so I tried for a clean and simple look, this is as clean and simple as I am able to do!

Paired with an everyday sentiment, still adorable! And yes, I used those polka dots again! I have polka dot issues, they are happy and fun, they work with almost everything, and I love them!

Christmas in July!!

How about some awesome ideas for Christmas! All this week over on the Savvy Projects blog, we will be focusing on ideas and projects for the holiday season!  So will I, each day I will have a new project featured here to (hopefully) inspire you to get a head start on your holiday projects! I know it is only July, and it's like 100 degrees out side, but if we get a head start our projects could be done and we could enjoy the Christmas season without a crafting frenzy at the last minute. What!? I can't be the only one who does that... am I??

I took up a challenge by another Angel to use papers that were not "Christmas" paper, to create for Christmas. We have so many beautiful paper collections to choose from at The Angel Company that it really wasn't hard to do. I found that there is at least one sheet in most of our "Soar with it Collections" (SWIC) that could work for Christmas projects. And often there were two or more sheets that would work!!
The first card (above), was created using the Maggie SWIC and Amberly card stock collection., This light blue paper from Maggie, looks so cool and wintery to me. I tried for a "traditional" Christmas look for these cards today. I will share some nontraditional color combos later in the week.

 

This next card couldn't be more traditional in color, but this paper is from Mia's Cottage SWIC and card stock collection, paired with scarlet card stock! Polka dots are from Background Soup and embossed in white. This sentiment was computer generated, sorry,  I just wanted that saying so badly for this card, and couldn't let it go. :) 

Along with my papers, I also used stamps on both cards that are not from Christmas sets. The first card used the sweet angel from Fairytale Fun, but the sentiment is from Hung on a Tree, a Christmas set. This second card used Mice Day.

I will be adding something here everyday this week, lots of ideas for Christmas I just couldn't stop! I hope that you will stop in again . Also please be sure to check out the Savvy Projects blog all week for Christmas in July and see something new each day to inspire you!!

Technique Blog Hop ~ spotLIGHTing

 

Happy Friday, and welcome to another Angel Company Blog Hop on The Savvy Projects Blog!! Today is a "Technique" Hop and we are featuring "Spotlighting"! Don't tell anyone, but this is a new technique for me, I have never used this technique before, shhhhh... :)

 That is the wonderful thing about these blog hops, you get to try out new things and if you follow the hop, you get to see all the wonderful creations that everyone else made! So many ideas, and different points of view to inspire you!! Exciting! Even better, get your Angel Company stamps out and join in the fun!!

 

My first card today uses a new set from Nina B. called "Fairy Wishes".  The spotlighting technique is where you stamp your image twice,  then use a punch or die cut shape to "spotlight" an area of the image, coloring only that small area that you have punched out. Don't you just love this set!? The sentiment is one of my favorite sayings!!

 

I decided to add a cut out 3-D butterfly, just to see how that looked, it's fun to play!

 I also added some shimmer to the wings with my stardust gelly pen, it just doesn't seem to show up in the picture. These are not colors I would normally use either, but I am liking the combination! I am pretty pleased with this card, my first "Spotlighting" ever!! :)

This is my second card. For this one I used a couple more new sets called "Be Fabulous", and "For Everything". I love these sets together! I stamped the pattern from "For Everything" onto the kraft card stock with a Cloud White Vesa Magic ink pad. (It might have been nice if I had used Momento Rich Cocoa ink for this instead.) I colored my "Spotlighted" area, then added my layers, the ribbon and buttons just finished it all off! So what do you think?

Coco and Mack

Coco and Mack is another new set of stamps from The Angel Company, if you love cute puppies then you will love this set! There are four sweet pups and four sentiments, two of the images are seasonal, fall and Christmas, and two can be used all year long!
For this card I used the Christmas image and pared it with our Reece paper collection. The sentiment is from Thinking of You, my all time favorite, go to sentiment set!
Life has been a little crazy here, and very, very busy too. I am sure it is like that for a lot of us right now. Once I get through the next few weeks, I plan to slow things down and really enjoy the holiday season ( keeping my fingers crossed!). Time just seems to be flying by so quickly!

Bubbles... and missing photos.

This was a card that I made and sent in to TAC, it did not make it into the new catalog, but I thought it was cute and wanted to share it  anyway. I took photos of all the cards I made and sent in, unfortunately they seemed to have disappeared into the computer somewhere. I was so excited to find these the other day, although there are still some missing and no sign of them anywhere. I was very lucky to have some of my designs published in the new catalog, I can not express how thrilled I am, I have never had anything in print before! My daughter asked me how long  before I stop dancing around the house smiling, apparently she doesn't like my dancing!

Tomorrow evening I will be joining in a blog hop with a bunch of talented gals from Paper Wings, this months theme is Christmas in July, I hope that you will stop by and follow this fun event, lots of inspiring ideas for Christmas I am sure!!

More Mimi Acrylic Album

"More Mimi" is one of my favorite paper lines from The Angel Company, it is even double sided for more creative possibilities. That means 10 different paper patterns to work with, plus a set of double sided tags!!
This is a clear album a we also carry in the catalog, so much fun with all the different shapes.



I love how this album turned out. If you have not made an acrylic album before , you should give it a try, they are so much fun and look so beautiful when they are done.

I hope that you enjoy this little album, and maybe it will inspire you to create your own clear album to use for yourself, or as a special gift...

I'm Back!!!

Can you believe, an actual photo!!!

Yippeee, I am able to post photos again!!! I can not believe how long it took me to figure this out *sigh*. So if there is anyone still left out there looking in on this little blog, get ready because I have lots of creative projects to share with you, lots and lots!! This first card is made with a new set from The Angel Company called "Sunday Stroll", isn't she cute? The paper is My Minds Eye, and I colored her using Copic markers.
